No ice and we got a wet snow of about 8" last night. I'm thinking the spot that produced good Crappie and especially Pickerel but small Gills ,a few years ago may be hot action  again this year .It didn't produce last year because the water was down so low .Notgonna be the case this year if  we get the ice . Hoping by New Years or a little after to be ice fishing .

November’s full Moon was called the Beaver Moon by both the Algonquin tribes and colonial Americans. The Native Americans used the monthly Moons and nature’s signs as a sort of calendar to track the seasons. Why this name? Back then, this was the month to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. The November full Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon by other Native Americans.

Based on the Moon’s sign and phases in November, the best time to harvest is on the 11th and 12th for aboveground crops and on the 2nd, 3rd, 29th, and 30th for those belowground. Additionally, it’s helpful to know that during a waxing Moon, pruning encourages growth; during a waning Moon, it discourages growth.

The apps are compiled historical data that provide you so-so info. In reality, they create a predictive trend analysis rather than the real info about that waterbody. If I have to provide the percentage of accuracy, I give them about 60%.

There are way too many localized factors in play, ranging from sudden weather shifts, to atmospheric influences by the local and remote regions. Even photoperiods and geological events become extremely unpredictable. We thought we could hit the lake at night when the moon was between 3/4, full, 3/4, but we were hit with multiple days of cloud, wind, and earthquakes that those trips were spoiled with absolute no bite.

Not sure if this is good or bad . Hope it doesn't mean no ice fishing! https://www.almanac.com/video/less-severe-winter-weather-expected-2...(title)&utm_campaign=Companion+Daily
