Creeks all over Henderson County, TX are flooded. Hope some fish remain when it goes down

Do you think it would be true if I was fishing in the creek and catching only 4" bluegill, that there would be no larger bluegill in the same spot? In other words, do they stay in schools according to size?

There's a creek around my house I use to fish a lot as a teen. I Loved it as it was within walking distance and would yield huge numbers of huge panfish (Bluegills, Rock bass, Pumpkinseeds, and Greens) during the Spring run and into summer as well. I caught my biggest Bluegill out of there at just over 1.5lbs. Sadly over the past 5 years they've altered the stream to make it more of a trout habitat for steelhead to migrate. Great for trout conservation, but when other species have their habitat degraded in favor of an another I find this to be a poor conservation practice. The Ironic thing is too, I`ve caught a lot more trout out of there before it was altered, but if you love Chub or sucker it`s a great fishery!!!! Has anyone else experienced such a problem with a local favorite stream?

I will start by telling those of you who watch carefully and make sure that everyone comments in the correct forum or group that we bought a bobcat excavator to fix up our creek. Therefore, I am putting this under the creek fishing group. That having been said, we have a swallow of some type that has made a nest in the opening for the bucket of the bobcat. Every time we use it, the bird flies away. Then, we put it back in the right spot, and the bird comes back. No eggs yet, don't know what the bird will do when the chicks hatch. Have to look in there with a flashlight to see the nest way back there.

Me and 30 worms vs. the worm eating creek monsters hiding under a downed tree. The results: 3 small bluegill, 1 perch, and 2 catfish.

Went fishing in the creek today. Joe Sun and I caught 8 bluegill, 2 catfish, 2 crappie, and 1 bass. All to small to eat.

Where do bass live (and feed) in a creek?

Hit my first stream of the year yesterday, the upper Chipola River, N. of Marianna, Fl. Met a good friend there for an afternoon of catching. Did a lot of fishing, but no catching. The place is beautiful, but hard to fish because of many trees down in the water. We spent more time tying on new hooks than we did fishing, and hardly had a bite all day. Things were complicated by a deceptively strong current and a brisk crosswind, making boat handling a chore.
