Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'm gonna start another blog and that will be it till Winter sets in here.

HERE'S WHAT I THINK I OWE BRUCE FOR CREATING "BBG"  " I OWE HIM EVERYTHING I CAN POSSIBLY DO FOR HIM , AND ANYONE ELSE ON HERE FOR THAT MATTER:
My reasoning is very simple . A while back Tony or someone created a blog for thanks to Bruce and that was fine , but it didn't last long enough in my estimation, or go into enough depth.
WHen I came to BBG a short while ago I was just browsing looking for something to do with my hobby of Gill fishing and somewhere were I might find like minded folk . I did right here on this site to my amazement and joy .

My life up till that point was basically like everyone else on here who is retired , or not retired , either way . Get up and do the chores for the day , check the weather , and see what I'll do for the day.

Now I have a purpose in life , to relax number one , enjoy myself in what ever I'm doing , and just kick back and see what's happening on this site !!!!!!!!
I used to fish for the same reason we all do , ENJOYMENT . Whether or not you are competitive in nature or not is of little importance here. It's about the fish and not us.

Yup I always wanted to be a teacher or lawyer , glad I never chose the later, but can still teach if anyone is interested in my opinions . Like Jim Gronaw on here I like to make bugs and see what they catch . This site gave me the opportunity to meet folks like Jim, Sir Jeffrey , Carl , DIck and all the rest on here. That would have never happened in my wildest dreams with out this site.  Sir Jeffrey is of special interest to me because he TESTS anything new  I can dream up . With some success I might add. That's partially because hes' a great fisherman and sometimes we come up with the right combo of size and colors for bugs.
Sir Jeffrey , and I say that with the utmost respect , has opened my eyes to different combinations of things when it comes to making bugs etc.
Without Bruce I never would have met him or anyone else on here .
I've taken my fishing and tying to it's last plateau . No were to go from here and don't need to . All I have to do now is read on here every day and learn all I can , AND I'VE LEARNED SO MUCH IT STAGGERS THE IMAGINATION......

THE SIMPLICITY OF JIM'S BAITS are in a class all there own also. NEVER WOULD HAVE MET HIM OR SEEN HIS WORK EITHER WITHOUT BRUCE.

NOW ON TO MY FAVORITES ON HERE : PICTURES !!!!!!! THE DIGITAL age has been a blessing for all of us . Anyone who remembers the ole 35 MM days can attest to the ease and quickness of taking and posting pics on here . I truly marvel Daily at the pics on a regular basis from all over the United States. Always thought Iowa was the west coast till I saw pics from Mr. Soto and the likes of him from out there.....
As BOB HOPE ONCE SAID " THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES " BRUCE YOU ARE A GEM IN MY BOOK ........

Here you said what I have felt for a long time. I don't "know" you guys - I may never meet any of you. But you are all real to me and you ARE my friends, no matter where you are. For making this possible, I owe Bruce.

ELOQUENT DAVID AS ALWAYS.......

The only Bruce I know here is me. But, seriously, I do appreciate Bruce if he, in fact, has started this great site. I wish we could all get together fish and have some fun.

The other Bruce

YUP BRUCE T. THE OTHER BRUCE, CONDELLO, started this site and I'm sure he appreciates your comments...

Its worth remembering, if a tad sordid, that THE Bruce also bears all the cost of maintaining this site. We have no commercialism, ads or annoying solicitations for this reason.

Most internet USERS rarely consider the financial aspects of the information highway. But it exists; I've operated a business website and can tell you it isn't free.
Every month when Bruce writes that check on our behalf, well... What is that worth?

You guys are so nice.

Yes, it's true that this site runs with no advertising revenue.

However, I will say that I get an absolute wealth of fun out of this site.  My association with some amazing people wouldn't be possible without BBG.  Too many people to name.  But all of them with a love for fishing, a love for the outdoors and a love for panfish.  I plan on keeping this going for a long time.  My relationships with the other members on this forum grow stronger and stronger over time.

I would also say that many members have reached out to me and done made some very nice gestures.  Several members have contributed many, many hours helping to keep this site clean and friendly through their moderating efforts.  Others have sent me really cool fishing lures, and fishing paraphenelia that now hold great personal value to me.  I appreciate every single one of you who have made these very nice gestures.

I've never once thought that I wasn't getting enough out of this site.  Friendships are truly priceless!!!

Thank you, Bruce.
I know when I express my heartfelt appreciation for this website, that I speak for all.
You are a gentleman, sir....and anything to the contrary is a secret safe with me.

GREAT COMMENT BRUCE and everything about this site is Priceless to me ..........

So MANY more that I am WATCHING GROW on this SITE!!!!!!

Thank YOU, BRUCE for the OPPORTUNITY to be A PART of this SITE!!!!!!

BIGBLUEGILL ROCKS!!!!!!

I wasn't able to find a site that I can truly feel welcome to, and be a part of, like a family, without the ridicules and improper flaming that exist in so many other sites. Thanks to Jeff Soto as he invited me to join the site, I found so many different levels of mastery that goes beyond my comprehension. Other sites are all about "ME", "MYSELF", and "I". Here, the plethora of encouragement to emphasize "US", "WE", and "OUR" surpass anyone's expectation what a site could be like.

Whether one is a baby, young (also young at heart), middle age, old, ancient relic (me), or a dinosaur, the warmth and inviting atmosphere always beckons one to return. It's all thanks to two dedicated masters of the website (Bruce Condello, and forgive me of the second mysterious master's name), and the dedicated admins of the site.

The splendid minds from all walks of life, every experience in every skill, are gathered under one site, to share tremendous amount of insights, wisdom, and knowledge that one can only hope to obtain it all. From a short period of time I've joined the site, I've gain new skills that I've been wanting to learn, new methods forged under trails and errors, different levels of insanity from challenges as we attempt to hone our existing skills, and of course, new self improvement and expectations to break our personal limits. Aside from that, new lifetime friendship and bonds are formed. Bruce, from the bottom of my heart, and from my wife's acknowledgement as she sent her regards, we want to thank you for saving my sanity from the normal daily grind, as I enjoy my daily visit at the site to relax my nerves, to read its member's posting, and share my mediocre blurbs.

You can always count on these great people. They've always been helpful and respectful to me. The simplest questions are treated with respect. Don't ever be afraid to ask a question. I, we, will do all we can to answer them in a polite manner. Welcome to you and your wife

Bruce (The Other One)
