Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I want to know what tools you take on every trip aside from rod and reels and tackle. I know some guys that have a whole tool box full of things such as scissors, pliers, clippers, etc.. I personally only use a medium size pair of forceps and a knife that I made for utility purposes. Both are clipped on a belt loop for convenience. I'm interested in the things other people use because I enjoy learning from fellow anglers.

I bring needlenose pliers (if i need to bend a hook), the aforementioned forceps with a sharp area to cut the line. If I'm fishing for pike or cats I'll bring a boga grip along. Bluntnose pliers are not a necessity for me but they're always nice to have along in case I need to do some quick reel repair. I'm intrigued to see what the other guys have to say.

forceps's , needle nose pliers , clippers , pocket knife

needle nose pliars w/wire cutter, pocket knife, braid cutter scissors

Pliers, measuring tape.....
Fishing vest, with clippers, needle
nose pliers, multitool, bait and fillet knives, hook disgorger, signal mirror,
Toilet paper

always a real slim needle nose pliers; knife of some type; a type of hook get-r-outer; and a good cooler full of beer

You have to go with minimal gear, foreceps, line nippers and a pocket knife...leave the duct tape at home..

Oh and, cheater reader glasses...and polaroid glasses

BILL, Is Right, except how can you go anywhere without DUCT TAPE!!!!!! I just don't get it!!!!

a couple of cold beers and  what bill said.

in the boat: needle-nose pliers, forceps, clippers, tool bag, hook disgorger, flashlight, boga grips, scales, bait knife, fillet knife, towel, change of clothes, windbreaker, and an umbrella if there is more than a 10% chance of rain.

Kayak or bank fishing: forceps and clippers or pocket knife

These are good suggestions,  For safety, I always bring a pair of cross-cut snips strong enough to cut a hook, should I accidentally get stuck.  I also have a loop of strong braid with a ring that I can use to pop a hook out if its not too bad.  In addition to those things, I bring a submersible thermometer and sunscreen.

Thanks for the input. Seems as though we all agree on the basics and have our own personal preferences on the extras.
