Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I'm thinking about upgrading my fish finder from a Humminbird 565 black and white. I like the looks of the Humminbird Helix 5. There seems to be 2 versions of it. One with and one without Side Imaging. How important is side imaging in find bluegills on a large impoundment? The Helix 5 without side imaging show a kind of side view, but I don't think you could find beds with it. But it sure looks clear otherwise. I would love to hear from those who use a fish finder to locate bluegills. What I've written is based on some YouTube videos. I could be wrong about any or all that I have written.

Thanks

side image is what you want . I would recommend at least a 7 inch screen as well . You can find every bream bed in a 300 acre lake in one evening ,easy .

sideview with a 7" screen or better. get the biggest screen you can afford no matter the brand. i bought a prelawsuit Garmin 7sv a couple of years ago and its pretty awesome. they won the countersuit mess a couple of months ago against Navico and should be putting out their new updated units soon. Garmin leases Hummingbirds sideview tech and their all in one units are fairly reasonable. Nothing wrong with Hummingbird or Lowrance units either, they all work well to find beds, too good actually.
