heres the idea i use, i have the metal cage stile that opens in the middle i put a 1/2 peanut butter sandwitch in it ( packed ) i use it at the river in slow current ,try it it works for me, and yes i do get some craw dads also.

My trap is 2 piece plastic. I use stale bread. A good hole 2 to 5 ft deep. Can catch a couple dozen minnows in a night. Remember to tie a rope on and tie it off. If I leave a trap very long unattended they will grow legs. Good luck

i have used the rectangular metal cage ones you get at cabela's, take a can of cat food poke some holes in it, drop it in the trap place trap in deeper hole on creek, come back in 2-3 days<br />
might even have some crawdads' if you put a chicken leg in there
