<p>tony,my first graphite was a berkley lightning rod ultralight 1 piece black foam handle.got it in the early 80s.the early infisherman days.think it was 5'6" about 5 now after being retipped a few times.handle is more elecrtical tape than foam now.that rod went every where from florida to canada .1000s of fish were caught on it including a 9 lb bass and 8 lb walleye.2 0r 3 hundred canadian smallmouths.perch from lake michigan monster gills from strip mines.it has no taper just a low modules…</p>

<p>Yup Mike the ugly sticks are glass and made the old way of the Wonderods with one improvement, solid glass tip. I had some old ones and they had cork handles and were equal length rod sections . New ones made in China of course , but they are still tough and carry tow for backups on trips for just in case one of my old Wonderods or Garcia's bread on me.</p>
