<p>I fish Michigan and they had a 20" size limit on them that was a long way back have no idea what the size limit is now. I have eaten pike up to 30" and they all eat good. Once and awhile you get in them skinny slender pike we call hammerhandles I stay away from them not much meat.</p>

<p>Pickerel hit well through the ice and so do Yellow Perch .I hope I get to have a meal with both this winter and compare the taste . Perch can't be beat I don't think but Picks 22" offer up substantial food!</p>

<p>I can say I honestly never ate a pickerel but have eaten many a northern and assume the taste close to the same. Pike are good to eat now all I have to do is learn to fillet the dab burn things to get rid of the Y-bones.</p>

These Bluegill and Pickerel chunks were beer battered pan fried and eaten a few years ago .</p>
