Mixed bag of auto-reels 9/3/15

2 Perrine #87 look like the 57 but a bit wider.
1 Perrine #55
1 Perrine #51
1 Southbend #1100 looks to be built by Shakespeare
1 Shakespeare #1822
1 odd looking Johnson #40 sidewinder
There all tight and dirty. Scary thought I guess I need to make an attempt to clean then and see if I can get them ready for duty.

Comment by carl hendrix on January 29, 2016 at 8:10pm: Keith;; I dont know of any advantage to a side winder type; ( also called a pancake ) ; but I have tried a couple like them; found them to be a disadvantage myself... reel is way to close to the rod;; a hand bumper; had to hold the rod a little different;; never did like it;; give me a oval shape like the model 57 perinne any time !! and;; if anybody does check out a pfluger auto reel;; I;ll say this;; those by pfluger;; are bigger; and heavier; than a perinne !! to heavy ; to big in my opinnion !!

Seems like now I'm getting a lot of junk that needs springs and other stuff to repair and hard to find parts for these reels since they have been out of production for quit awhile. Hoping I can get some cheap good reels for parts now.
