I know in the Dakotas they call scuds freshwater shrimp but they are blessed with lots and lots of scuds. I'll be tying up some scuds later. Want to try to tie up a few black soldier flies haven't seen any tied up so it will be a first for me.

Thanks all. Trying to get out of my slump and tying is a good start. I used the freshwater shrimp on a lot of these Southern Michigan Lakes and they worked well for me. Being as they were flies I would tie 2 on my ultra lite spinning rod so I could cast it. To my surprise many time I would get doubles.

These are awesome........I was fortunate to receive a few of the early prototype grass shrimp from Dick several years ago.....these are a multi species killer on the Albemarle including my nephew's personl best on one of the orange shrimp.........

A buddy of mine from ND use to fish Lake Sakakawea and Devils lake for Magnum Perch. Both lakes had freshwater shrimp in them as I recall, which the perch gorged themselves on. They are some of the fattest perch I have ever seen. I think these will work for all panfish.
