Hey Howard, I've never caught a White Perch but I used to talk to some of my fishin buddies (when I lived down in Virginia) about them and apparently they love small minnows (very similar to Crappies). Fished several places with my buddies that had White Perch in them but just didn't catch any. They apparently are a schooling fish just like Crappies and Bluegills and apparently are very good eatin as well!!! According to my buddies, they will take small spoons (tiny Kastmasters, smallest Johnson Silver Minnows, etc) that look like small minnows readily and if you get into a school of them, the action is apparently non-stop!!! Hope this is helpful!!
Thanks Howard .The White river was beautiful but seemed devoid of life when I was there in Upper Greenville at the end of March.I dont want to come across accusatory until I hear more or someone from the Vermont Fish and Wildlife department admits a blunder!

About a month ago I heard from the owner of 'Big D's Doghouse', a bar in lower Greenville, that 13 or so years ago he use to fish the White River with great success near his bar but the state screwed up the fishing with some sort of Salmon stocking program. He was quite bitter about it.He did say the River was fishable south of lower Greenville.
Trout is great here, that is all my husband will fish for here. I love it when someone catches a little pumpkin seed and a large mouth bass jumps out of no where trying to take the pumpkin seed from the hook--My daughter almost caught both of them on one hook.
Yea thats my music... I love banjo but guitar is my main thing!Glad you like the tunes!Gotta chat with you about something thats been bothering me about the White River.I'll keep in touch.
You're welcome, but the reality is that YOU are the reason this is such a great site. Before all the enthusiastic people like you showed up it was just words and pictures. Now it's friends and sharing and sittin' around the campfire!
Thanks for joining the Cane pole crazy group. I think it will be a fun, laided backed topic to chat about. It will be cool showing off our long pole catches this summer!!!!!!!
