How are you today David I was just wanting to say hi I looked at Troy grove on my map this morning we are only about an hour away from each other not far at all we should hook up in the near future for some fishing talk with you later have an awesome day
David I will be working on a pipeline on the Il. side of the river from Fort madison for about 5 weeks. Just wondering if it would be worth the effort to bring along fly rod and what the area is like.
Hi David, I see you tie some jigs. Isn't it neat to catch on your own ties? I am a huge fan of the 1/80 jigs and calf tail is what I use most. I also have made my own solder head jigs to produce a jig like the famous "Grizzly Jigs" I got busy and didn't fish a lot this season. I hope the drought didn't kill off some of my smaller haunts. Thank you for the nice comments on this site. I sort of drifted away as I can't find those bluegill in the midwest that weight 2 and 3+ lbs. I'm on a tight budget so can't (and don't want) to buy my way into the popular pay lakes I see on the site. Thanks again for the comments. Michael J. Searl
David, Thanks for the compliments. Feel I'm fortunate to share ideas with talented tiers such as yourself and others on this site. Have learned in the 30 years of tying flies that an old dog like me can learn a new trick, if he hangs with dogs who knows some tricks. Thanks again!!
That's a definitely Tooty. Human and family pets are precious. We were a bit edgy after the first strike, and various strikes to follow from the distant, but we're golden now, as we laughed our fear of the little lightning show..yeahh....
Wow what great , I started fly fishing when I was seven using my grandpas bamboo rod, and used Shakespeare wonder rod for years. I see you are making some of your own fly rods can you email some pics to me at hunter9244@gmail.com.
