LOL! My name change is for humor, since I haven't chase enough gill's tails this year. Think of the bluegill's scientific name, and twist the humor into it.
White Perch are invasive, and are slowly making their way down the Arkansas River from Kansas. I've caught them at 31st & Riverside in Tulsa. I'm not sure how much farther they are past that. Eventually, they are going to hit the Muskogee area, and will start making their way up the Verdigris and Grand/Neosho Rivers. Not sure how far upstream on the Verdigris they will make it, probably all the way up into Kansas. On the Grand/Neosho River, they will probably only make it as far upstream as the dam on Ft. Gibson, unless someone unknowingly captures some, puts them in a bucket, and releases them alive above the dam.
That is assuming that these fish aren't already present in in the Verdigris and Grand/Neosho Rivers in Kansas.
Jen I have been on there before but for very brief periods of time I thought it was sales. Thank you I see after further investigation you can see the flies as far as what they actually look like I can see many prospects there. Again thanks.
I wish the winter was more of a winter, rather than a mix bag of winter and late spring. There's not enough rain to make snow for winter sports activities, but the cold threw the bites completely off because the fishes were completely confused on how they should hunt. Been like this for the past 4 years.
Thanks for the comment Jen. Absolutely, can you imagine what friends and family want me to cook when they visit? Got to get the cornmeal and peanut oil ready for the fourth of July. Good luck with the fly rod. I enjoy your pics and comments.
Hey Jen...you're right about the 3 wt or lighter...we used 2 and 4 lb test micro light spinning gear to handle these fish, and we caught many of our 5 to 6 lb largemouths on the same, including a 25 inch pickerel I hooked right in the tip of the snout on a jig. No need to go heavy.
I was talking about the Boise State smurfs being ranked ahead of Oklahoma. Of course OU will beat the longhorns. Just run it down their throats like Bama did.
I don't mind if you are in the black hole. I just ain't going near it. I have seen your work and appreciated your skill and talent. From afar!!!
Very afar!!!
