Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Imagine my surprise to open my email this morning and see a friend request from Scott Hudson, son of T.S. Hudson. I can tell the two of us have created quite the stir on the Big Blue Gill page. I never thought we'd find out about Mr. Hudson's fish! I'm excited and thrilled as all of you are. Maybe between Scott and I we can piece together where some of the fiction starts and the facts end.

And thank you all for your comments and encouragement. I just wish I had time to get out there and really find the fun places to fish. As for Ketona...well...now that I live here, I'd like to check it out if they would allow me access.

If you "bloogle" (search inside Bigbluegill.com) Ketona, one entry is a discussion from BBG member TOM in Feb 09. http://www.bigbluegill.com/forum/topics/keytona-lakes-tarrant-city?...

He says he sneaks in often and the big ones are still there. I don't think sneaking in is appropriate for Scott or Christine, but perhaps we can get Tom to respond with some local info, like maybe who owns it, who the decision maker might be. Maybe someone else already knows. It would be a wonderful event to have the two of them fish there together and show us what they caught.

AaronM and I are already prepared to help any way we can in regards to finding out some of the fun and amazing details. :-) We would absolutely make it the feature article of the entire website. I couldn't hardly sleep last night thinking about it.

Ask your bait shop to get them. H & H Lures sells them I know. I have bought them at Bass Pro Shops in Prattville, Al, just above Montgomery. Most of what I saw on e-bay for sale were African quills and were real skinny. You also had to make them into a float yourself.

As for the owners of Ketona letting you fish there, I have no idea. If it is closed, they probably don't want the publicity. A fishing magazine that might want to get you two together there might could make the arrangements. It's a nice thought, but just going gill fishing makes my day.

haha that was my idea too mr bluegillboogieman...reckon the owners would let us? Do ya'll know where I can get real quills? Stores don't sell them anymore and I really hate bobbers! Someone told me they knew someone that raised porcupines...but I can't remember who told me so I can't ask them to get some for me!

Make time to go bluegill fishing as often as possible. It is your legacy. I would love to see a picture of the both of you, fishing together at Ketona. I would buy a magazine just to see it. Hint, hint!
