I now my picture is of a rock bass, but that night i went fishing i was cat fishing really. Plus it was like 12:00PM and the blue gill were not out. But I managed to catch three rock bass. Hey Greg,  I have been experimenting with different colors of my panfish baits, and came across a bag of what I call "Silver Minnow" color.

early last fall I stocked my small pond with hybrid bluegill. The pond is about 1/4 acre. I also put a hundred channel cat. The pond is full of crayfish, frogs and minnows. I have been feeding them every day. I took my fly rod to catch a couple to check their growth progress. I was really surprised at how much they have grown but I caught one that was covered with black specs. It looked like it was covered with pepper. Does anyone know what this might be? If you love to fish top water for bluegills this is a great way to enjoy yourself. I was talking to Bryon Mahoney about it and I think this may clarify the system for any new people who may not of herd about it before.
