Do you love big bluegill?
Trophy fisheries have always attracted the spotlight. Fishing guide Jim Doom shows us why. Redear sunfish keep the cameras rolling and the shutters snapping as the live well fills. We talk with Kentucky Afield magazine artist/photographer Rick Hill about the hooks his magazine will cover, and to Kentucky Afield television host Tim Farmer, who brings the limelight to life on TV.
Check this out, fans of www.bigbluegill.com!!!!
Hi everyone. Just about to order some more pine resin to make the stick bait glue, as JPThuy called it, "Leo's Lunker Loogie", or the official "BBG Brand Natural Glue for Live Baits". That is one freaking long title. "BBG Bait Glue"..There you go.
If there are interested parties, I'll order extra resin, and grab more heat tempered glass jars from the local $0.99 stores, and process the resin according to temperature of your local areas. Let me know. So far, Federico…Continue
The New Catalog is Here Contest
First - I have a tackle review item to share and it is rating the Big Box - Bass Pro Shops Spring Catalog.
Actually - let me refresh that review because while I think it deserves more than one word for a review. If I didn't have to inform you of why I believe this catalog to be only good for recycling and an average worm-bedding, I would stick with a review…Continue

I haven't used a spinning rod in years because I love the feel of long rod In my hand!!!!!!! Spoons and Flyrod do not mix!!!!! Even in the smaller sizes, a chunk of metal whizzing past your ear is a little scary to say the least!!!!! Even a wide brimmed hat offers little protction!!!!!!

All I Learned is All Wrong?
I was fishing a 5 star lake this weekend Green Lake of Green Lake county Wisconsin. I am posting this because Green Lake has some monster Bluegills, 10 inch bluegills are more common in this lake than any other I have fished, I have witnessed 11+ inchers here as well.
I fished Friday, saturday, and sunday this weekend and never caught a small fish. I caught my limit each day , 73 were crappie and only 2 bluegills. Sunday I started fishing at 7 am, by 7:30 I had 19 crappie. Then I…Continue
It has been a very short, and uncommon type of winter in northern Illinois.....with the late start to the ice season, gill fishing has been sub-standard at best......but the bass fishing has been tremendous....here are some fish from this years 3 week ice season.…Continue
Who is this un-named fisherman?
OK Greg and Leo you got me started with the float tubes. I need any info on fishing float tubes cause I have never used one before I think you gathered that though. I'm a fairly large person no large person with one back surgery under my belt so I would like something comfortable with great back support. Any help would be appreciated back support being the main emphasis.
Went to my friend's lake Sunday the 29th on a whim. It was chilly, damp, breezy, and the water was muddy from all the rain we've had here in Georgia. (Don't guess what would be called ideal conditions). Was throwing a 0ne inch black curly tail grub from the bank and got hit right away! An hour later, I ended up with ten nice gills weighing in between 3/4 to 1 pound. Hope this kind of action remains this way throughout the season. Nick
