First, let me start by saying thank you to whoever created this site! My question is, Is there any members here from South Carolina & if so, where can I find good bream fishing in Columbia SC?
Also, I'm a cricket and wiggler man, but I'm looking forward to learning some new killer technics.

Being a fisherman from southern California, where is rarely gets under 40 to 50 degrees in the dead of winter, why do the Blue gill in our lakes here stop biting when we have this cool weather? It is Very hard to even locate them! Most of the lakes and ponds in the northern states freeze over from freezing temperatures, yet you have great Bluegill fishing through the ice. Cold water is cold water, no matter where it is right? Well, Bluegill are Bluegill in any area too right? So how come us…

Today we went fishing with the legendary Dave Genz, perhaps the best ice fisherman of all time. We also had the privilege of fishing with Tod Todd of
midwestangling.com, a few other professional ice fisherman and Chef Todd Kent.
We were fishing a private lake north of Rochelle, Illinois. Words cannot describe what an amazing day this was! The wind was blowing 30 mph, the temperature was about 14…

If you listen to the experts, they’ll tell you to teach your children to fish in bits and pieces.
Short attention spans, you see.
We don’t buy that one iota. They’ll either like fishing or hate it.
Reminds us of a neighbor boy who was 6 at the time. He loved to fish. Couldn’t get enough of it. Every time we’d drive home, we’d see him standing on the banks of the pond, rod in hand.
He was rough on the edges, but nice. Wouldn’t have wanted to be his teacher, though. We could…

The deeper I dig into this love of panfishing, the more I am beginning to enjoy what comes after a fishing trip then the actual trip. Sure I still lose sleep the night before I know I'll be either on, in, or next to the water with a fishing rod in hand; there's always an anticipation while enroute to the destination, and having a sudden tug or seeing a float disappear still puts a smile on my face.
This recent foray into the unknown has really focused my attention away from the angling and…

My 10 acre pond is two years old. We stocked this pond with 7,000 Coppernose bream and 3,000 shellcrackers. We also put in 100 Tiger bass to the acre.As soon as the water warms each year I have two feeders that go off 4 times daily. The feed that I have been using is Purina game fish chow. The bream are responding well with several caught at 1lb.
Questions I have:
1) Is there another feed that would grow bigger bream?
I have let numerous friends keep 40 or 50 bream/trip…
