It’s interesting how fish have different names depending on your state, we also called Red Ear Sunfish…..Chinquapin which is an Indian name….spotted sunfish we’re just called stump knockers……thanks John….

As a youth I referred to Crappie as Calico Bass. That was what my mom who grew up in Massachusetts called them so that was what I knew.

It could be used culturally in other states, but Louisiana is the only place I’ve heard it used…..Warmouth= Goggle-Eye……Bowfin = Choupique…..spoken shoe pick and finally everyone’s favorite Crappie = Sacalait…Thanks John

So, Goggle eye is a Southern name for Warmouth. I thought it was for Rock Bass.
