Three months ago I got slammed by this 1 pound 9 ounce gill and it appears to hold the title for my best 2011 Bluegill since I experience little success in December in the South... A great day and a nice representation of the Pasquotank River in North Carolina......

Thanks Ken, I was just reminiscing a little because my 2011 season is almost over. These cold temperatures and storms in the mid-atlantic have all but shut us down. I still have a shot down in South Carolina over Thanksgiving, but alot of times I go for Crappie if things cool off before then.

Barring a huge surprise, this will most likely be my biggest gill of 2011. This fish was 1 pound 9 ounces caught just after Labor Day on one of my favorite home rivers, the Pasquotank...that makes five years in a row that my biggest gill has come from the Pasquotank  River, ironically in different locations at different times of the year....

Can you guess which one pulled harder? I looked for the landing net on both, the tip of the rod was down near the reel with the light tackle I fish with. Definitely a tank bluegill...
