Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hey you might not be able to tell but I am scared out of mind holding this fish! You talking about a set of jaws not meant for fresh water in America Jack!

Dude! If my wife saw that, she might tell me to take a fishing trip to the east coast and bring her back some snakehead to eat! They haven't invaded the west coast, so you can only get frozen ones in Asian markets and they really don't taste very good. I'm glad we don't have snakeheads out here, because if we did I'd probably be oredered to give up BG and just fish snakeheads for the table lol

Congrats Andre! I went last summer to the Mattawoman to try for them...came up empty but I still want one!

Actually, these are on my own bucket list.

Andre, nice catch!

Get yourself a pair of "fish grips", like Boga, or something similar.  That will cure the fear of their teeth.

@ Dave .... All very true facts!! I would compare them being releases in our Eco system to Mountain Lion roaming a rabbit farm!

Im glad you got it out of the water, but we're probably stuck with them from here out. Call it the changing face of fishing, or perhaps, "Aliens in Our Water." They have no predators to keep them in check but humans, and they dominate the local fishes with their prolific breeding and voracious appetites.

Consider them part of the new sportfishing in America. As you learned they are willing biters and, according to Jeremy Wade, excellent sport on hook and line. Hey, If you cant beat them may as well take advantage of the sport they offer. And the eating - - like Ken, I've heard they are excellent table fare.

@ Ken yea I wasn't fishing for this guy it destroyed a square bill!

@Carl Man I have never been scared of a fish until I saw the inside of this things mouth!
