I had a Symetre at one point also.  Shimano makes great reels for sure.

How do you feel the Pflueger compares to Shimano?  I've never had a Pflueger, have tried them out at Bass Pro Shops but always went with a Shimano.

WF – we didn’t get a chance to weigh the fish. Fabby choice is CPR so she let this one go after photos. She does like eating fish - but no females with eggs!

The rod & reel is an older Shakespeare Liberty rod with a Silstar tiny tf20 reel loaded with Ande Premium 2lb test.

The other rod set up, I use with the kids, is a custom wrapped rod with a Shimano Symetre 500FJ loaded with Yo Zuri Hybrid 2lb test. These combos are great for the girls because they fit their hands really well.

We like the Shimano reels also but have been using a lot of Pflueger reels for the last two years.

Thnx JB

JG – think I sent you one of each. The all rubber tail, SA, wasn’t hitting consecutively like the Auto did when I started slinging the intros. We have had to bump up the hook size because the BG & RE inhale the smaller version.

Hey Ledhed, is that reel the Shimano Sienna?  I have four Shimanos myself - a Sedona, a Sahara, a Spirex, and a Cardiff, used to have a Stradic but lost it in the move back to TN from CA - and have thought about recommending that model to a friend who's just getting into spinning reels from spincasting.
