I usually launch from 11/12, it's a long kick out there and a real workout getting back when there's a strong west wind. But the good news is that it usually dies down right at sunset...

Hi Jeff. I was using a 12 ft. leader with 12 lb flurocarbon tippet (fishing for bass too) about 10 feet deep on a clear intermediate line (Cortland 444 clear camo) that sinks about 1.5 inches/second.
