Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Have a very large fin surface area particularly when they get larger like these fish.........this fish is perfect with no cuts or splits.......

Thanks Slip........the spawn happens in late April or early May most years and it is still the most fun you can have with the species.........I've caught several hundred at a time during the spawn because they simply pile up heavier and more numerous than any other sunfish species.......they are a gamefish and fall within the 30 fish per day sunfish limit in North Carolina........most people know little or nothing about them and that includes most anglers........they do great in lower oxygen environments which allows them to flourish in many of the swamp settings along the Albemarle.........I have scouted and mastered several local bodies of water and have a good line on their patterns.......one local lake has a native population upwards of several million.......a place I once caught 237 in less than five hours using one ten foot telescopic pole.........a good time despite many of those fish in the five to seven inch class...........

Thanks Adam......I really enjoy the pursuit and catching these fliers........they add an fishing option to our region that most don't get to enjoy.................
