Here here to that. Can't wait for the days for the water to rise back up to its original height again early next year, with a few feet rise to spare during winter time. It'll take a year or so for the entire lake to rebalance, and definitely 2 more years for it to be on the rise towards optimal condition. The entire Bernasconi is going to be one prime habitat for aquaculture study, as well as that hidden sediment basin to the southeast.

Now now Carl, someone got to take care of the affairs, and have things taken care of before the crap hits the proverbial fan. But, it will be nice to fish with the two local legends.

What we see all the time Leo at Lake Perris with it's very low water level is people in boats throwing out their anchors (some with chains attached) in Bluegill and Redear spawning areas,  just tearing up the nests and disrupting the whole spawning process.  So as you say, the larger trophy sized fish are having to spawn in new areas,  and luckily these are in deeper water that can't be easily seen by anglers.  It's going to be a whole new lake once the dam work is complete and the lake fills back up.

True to that Jeff. I'm more curious of the common bedding locations, now being more scarce after the reduction of lake's volume. The fluctuation of water's depths, exposing them to predation, is a unique situation as well. Quite a few hot spots for congregations of big and small panfishes, and being hunted continually by all larger species.

Well Leo, the work is being done on the back of the huge dam.  I doubt that the lake side fish would leave the area.  If there was any vibrations at all from the heavy equipment used to reinforce the dam, maybe that attracted them by loosening up some insect larva and food from the rocks.

Impressive how you manage to locate all these quality fishes even when the dam is under construction. We're studying on the behaviors of the fishes as their environment is shifting under constant constraints.
