Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Bullhead bitten in half while on a trotline

This a bullhead about 7 to 8 inhes in size that something bit in half while it was hanging on a trotline. The pond is stocked with BG, RE,LMB, and CC. The greenies and bullheads I did not stock. My question is, Is it possible for LMB to bite a bullhead in half??? Or should I be worried about a gator possibly being in there? This is a private pond with no connecting bodies of water

yes, I remove as many as possible. I fish a certain area and thats all I will pull up.  Last year I was catching an average of 9 per day for weeks. I now have a hoop net and cheesebait to remove more at a time. In the next few weeks I should start catching them. Its alot warmer here than it should be right now. So Im expecting them to get active

It looks like the work of a Snapping Turtle to me Cardell. You don't have to put them in your pond, they'll migrate and hang out once they find food....All seven of my grandmother's ponds near Folsom, Louisiana had big turtles in them that would strike your fish stringers as soon as you put the first fish on them.....

I do live in the south and I do see turtles in there from time to time

Was it hanging underwater?  If it was on the surface or out of the water, it could have been a predatory bird, a racoon, skunk, etc.  If it was underwater, it could be and probably was a turtle or if you are in the south, a gator.  A bass might pick on it, but it would not bite it in half like that.  Same goes for all the other fish you listed.
