Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I caught this fatboy yesterday and he was roughed up a bit. A Great Blue Herron has been harassing the males while they were on the shallow beds. Looks like he just made a narrow escape.

Thanks for the comments Guys. I keep hoping for a 10 incher but they seem to grow taller instead of longer

This about the max for this pond 9 1/2 inches. They were slamming that Tooty bug and fighting like the devil himself. So much fun.
