Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Although we couldn't get on a good pattern to find number of fish, I did get my PB pumpkinseed with this big girl. I should've taken a head on pic with this fish, very thick fish and full of eggs.

Thanks everyone.

This reservoir has got bluegill, pumpkinseed, and green sunfish as far as lepomis goes, Leo. We catch the gills and seeds in sames areas, while the greens relate to the rocky shorelines. I'd say we catch about 5 bluegill for every 1 pumpkinseed.

Happy to release these fish back in LedHed, I did another individual female twice this year a week apart from the same spot in the reservoir. Pretty cool.

Great looking color. What's the population ratio of pumpkinseed there in comparison to the rest of other fishes based on your catches so far?

Thanks John and Dick. Was pretty thrilled to get this fish. Released to keep growing and do her thing in the coming weeks.
