Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Slow stripping an olive woolly bugger can be deadly on farm pond hybrids.

Shame on me is right
I better get on it. Black bead eye WB's tomorrow.

Brian, I completely agree with you.  Olive WB's are freaking deadly!  Have you tried doing some with black bead-chain eyes instead of the brass bead?  They mimic a Dragonfly nymph like that.

Scruff!  Shame on you!!!  Do I need to send you a few???

Thanks Brian. As universal as the Wooly Bugger is, I've never really fooled around with it.
Maybe I better get to it.

David,  Its wrapped with just a few wraps of .020 lead wrie and it has a small gold bead head.  Sinks about 4 to 6 inches per second.

Your wooly bugger is weighted in the usual way?

Jim...It's been really cold here, too.  Temps in these ponds were running between 57 and 60 degrees.  Had to work the fly slowly...but man, when they hit, the HAMMERED it!

Brian....I haven't tried my hybrid pond yet this year. Water is still 46 to 50 degrees. What water temps do you have there?
