    Hey Glen,
How about visiting my site at Michael Knowles and then let's talk fishing. As a kid and through my teens we had a campsite on the edge of the Ocala National Forest at State Road 8 and Hwy 42 (behind the Buck and Doe's country store). As a kid used to fish the Oklawaha from the fish camp where Hwy 42 crosses over it.

    Hey buddy,
It's Mike returning the comment. I grew up just outside South Miami near Dadeland Mall (Sunset Drive and Palmetto Expressway) Fished the Miami canals, rockpits, Everglades and Big Cypress. Spent many a childhood memory fishing Snapper Creek, Tropical Park nearby rockpit lakes, Tamiami Trail, L-67 and L-28. It was good fishing back then! Any of that sound familiar? Was back down a few years ago and 90% of my childhood fishing spots are inaccessible from development or fences (as well as all the places to pick up a friendly game of basketball, football, softball, etc). Feel sorry for today's kids down there looking for an alternative to gangs, drugs, crime, etc.

Had camps in the Big Cypress from 1978 to 2004 and fished out around Loop Road, Ochopee and Everglades City. It just got too expensive to keep and travel down there. l love the Big Cypress but it changed. They (the landowners) are trying to get me back down there and restart the camp but.....

As for Ocala, we used to fish the Oklawaha at Nelson's (if I remember the name right) right where state road 42 crosses over it. Had a campsite behind Buck and Does copunty store. Fished the small forest ponds too. Do you know the area?

Haven't heard from you, just checking in. Has all this rain helped your fishing?
