so that's like setting a state record!!!! thats commendable!!

    Chris:

It will be a drive for you. Glad to meet you there some time in spring. You would head west on Hwy 34. Turn south on Hwy 275 to Tabor, IA. Just before the Caseys, turn back west on a county road towards Bartlett, IA. Go approx 3 miles and look for a picnic shelter to the north. Follow to road to the east and it will bring you to the dam and where you can launch your boat. I hope this helps. Its about 17 miles from where I live. I'm guessing it would take you 2 hrs + to get there.
  • Patrick J. Jack

I thought you were from IA. When you hit I-29 south, go south on I-29 to exit 25 I believe...it's the 2nd exit after exit 35 (Hwy 34), go east approx 4 miles, look for picnic area to your left, turn in and follow the road to the east and you will se the dam.

That is a picture of the head waters of the Raritan River in New Jersey. The lake to the left is open to the public. Above the lake is private water.
Lake holds SM, LM, Musky, Crappie, Pan fish.
River has some of the only hold over trout in NJ.
  • BackwaterBen

Sorry I ment the lake on the right in the picture not the left.
  • Steve King

Belva Deer is blue gill heaven. About 250 acres of flooded timber!

THANKS FOR THE WELCOME, CHRIS. WE LOST MOST OF OUR PHOTOS IN A FIRE LAST YEAR BUT THESE GUYS ARE PRETTY COOPERATIVE SO HOPE TO HAVE SOME NEW ONES SOON. LIKE THE LOOKS OF YOUR HONEY HOLE. IF YOU FEED THEM THEY WILL GET HUGE. I WAS SHOCKED AFTER MY WIFE STARTED FEEDING OUR FISH. WE HAVE ALMOST DOUBLED IN SIZE ON THE LARGEST FISH. IT SOUNDS INCREDABLE BUT ITS TRUE. HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN. ROSS

I live in the eastern part of Iowa in Clinton Country and the weather is awesome here so far the last couple of days. I live about twenty minutes from the mississippi but idk y but never fish there. I have got out ice fishing a few times but i havent caught anything and that was on farm ponds. After about two hours i just go rabbit hunting.
  • Daniel Heiar

O my bad county not country!
  • Daniel Heiar

Yeah I have never been to lake belva deer. I pretty much stick to just farm ponds cause all of the 20 that I fish from are a about 1 to 2 miles away from my house and i prefer to stay close that way I can get more fishing in.
