As a boy born in the shadows of the Okefenokee I spent many hours skulling a cypress bateau through the swamp as my Grandpa fished the cypress for "Purch" ( Warmouth ), "Green Trout" ( LM Bass), "Jacks" (Chain Pickerel) and "Shinners" (Yellow Perch). Now this was 50 years ago but I can close my eyes and be right there..
To the point, Grandpa always fished Crawfish ( Crawdaddy) tails for "Purch", tightlined on a cane pole, tight to the cypress knees. Lord at the stringers of fish I've seen caught fishing that way.
Hardly if ever hear of folks fishing crawfish tails as Warmouth bait here in Florida and was wondering how many of you fish them. Might just be a "Swamper" thing.. I dont know..
