I am just lucky the cut was on the side of the finger ,if it was on the tip I'd be losing money and the wife would be pissed .She still doesn't know what happened .No need to worry her I put her through enough !
HEY JOHN;; I WONT PUT THIS BLAME ON YOU BUDDY;; MAKING ME GO SHOPPING; GETTING THAT PLINE; AND A FEW OTHER ITEMS;; NO SIR; THE BLAME GOES ; STRAIGHT TO; BRUCE CONDELLO !! COME AND JOIN; BIG BLUE GILL; YOU WILL LEARN A LOT OF NEW IDEAS;; TRY OUT A LOT OF DIFFERENT TACKLE ITEMS !! HE KIND OF LEFT OUT;; YOU WILL SPEND MONEY !! LOLOLOL LOOKS LIKE IM SPENDING MY KIDS INHERITANCE AGAIN ; LOL;; OH WELL;; HE CAN GET A SECOND JOB I GUESS; !!
I like the #4 Aberdeens for live bait fishing for big Crappie, Perch, Bass and Pickerel too ! I have them in size 10, 8,6 ,4, 2 and 1 .4 and 6 get used the most .
Glad you found the Pline Premium CX Carl! Let me know how ya like it .It 's strong and less memory and not as stiff as Flourocarbon , so easy to tie knots.
I;LL PUT IT ON;; JUST AS SOON AS I GET A NEW ROD AND REEL;; LOLOL;; MY ANNIVERSAY IS THIS TUESDAY;; THE WIFE DOESNT KNOW IT YET; BUT SHE;S GETTING ME THAT NEW ROD AND REEL !! 46TH ANNIVERSARY !!
Thanks Carl ,this was a fantastic 3#, 23.5" fighter ,even on an over matched 'Medium ' rod with 10 # test . There is a tenacity in Pickerel this time of year that seems unmatched in other months ,in terms of their willingness to battle .80 degree surface temp was the case this day . I am thinking the bait caster combo beat her up more than I should have as it took awhile to revive her . She was lip hooked and not gut hooked . Not bleeding just dog tired ! I am rethinking my approach a bit .
Brother Greg and I got 5 Pickerel this passed tuesday including a Behemoth 4# ,23.5" Greg got on a spinner rig/Herring . One crank bait fish that started it off .We then ,using herring and drifting/trolling ,worked 10-20 foot sharp dropoff areas .
Steve with a Pickerel .Lost my two at the bow of Steve's boat trying to pull them over the side .Lost two effective crankbaits with them as they clipped the line ! NO NET ,GEEESH! Gonna buy a long handle net to use in Steves boat .
Haha we are going tomorrow where we fished last time .Hoping Greg and I get on multi species .He is doing great but we are pissed off at the NY Yankees.
Targeting Crappie next for one of these awards. This 27,1/4" ,4#14 oz. Pickerel caught on a #5 hot firetiger Mepps Aglia qualified and is my 1st Mepps award:
Time for Live bait last time out Pickerel were hitting bottom Jigged crawlers with spinner harnesses and live shiners back trolled into wind . Thin Fin 08 crank bait over the weed tops picked off one as well.
The Silver shad 3" 08 model raised two Pickerel one dropped ,one netted. This thin but wide profile is intriguing me and has caught Perch, Bass and Pickerel for me use the 2.5" 06 model as well. The 06 /1/5th oz. runs 3-8 ' and the 08 3/8th oz. runs 4-10' I have caught fish using it against rip rap and over weed tops .It has no rattle but gets their attention !
Little CLEO 1/4 OZ spoon got three Pickerel and Chartreuse marabou jig also got three ;Pickerel , both tipped with crawler piece Thanksgiving day 44degree water temp , mid 30's air temp
Through the ice (Early Period ) Pickerel on 1/4 oz. Swedish Pimple tipped with shiner heads and tails . 9 of the 10 Pickerel were caught that way ,only one on the Tip up /Live shiner .
Back when I targeted Pike I used 3/8 to 1/2 ounce spinnerbait with long cast since. I fish mostly clear waters of Michigan. Whites and chartreuse were my go to colors and done me good.
