Targeting Multi Species Panfish

In my location of New Jersey, panfish include a variety of Species. I enjoy a Multi species outing either fishing alone or with friends or Family members. Bluegill, Pumpkinseed, Red Breasted Sunfish, Bullheads, pan sized Stream Trout, White and Yellow Perch, Crappie, a few Rock Bass, a few Green Sunfish is what I encounter. All are welcome to join and archive their techniques and Species List .

Bullheadbeen a favorite pan fish for me when I can find them. Where I fish nowadays, I haven’t seen any. But a few years ago I caught a huge one in a pond in Aiken, South Carolina. That thing would hardly fit in a 5 gallon bucket

I know better John just haven't dealt with many bullheads lately.and when the kid yanked on the rod i was moreworried about the hook.We used to eat bullheads when i was a kid and yes they just love worms,we used to cut the worms into 1inch or so pieces. The cut worms seemed to work better.Scent?I had a couple spots like you describe with water flowing in that you could catch them at will.I even caught a couple on a flyrod last summer, like seeing old friends.I don't know why they disappeared around here but seems like they are back. And thanks, the annual trip is a good time. There used to be around 40 of us,down to about 25 now as the old guys that started the trip are passing on.It is almost like Jeffrey Abney  abundance  of crappies.Locally i might catch 3 or 4 crappies on an outing.Where we go once you find them you can catch a few dozen in an hour.,

Yes, those spiny fins (Three of them) are there to watch out for. I have a careful 3 finger grip that serves me. I still have to play Guitar and don't want a Bullhead interfering with that. The Bheads were at the same spot today and hitting worms on Float Rigs and Bottom rigs.
