Do you love big bluegill?
I have a 5 acre pond with bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. I was thinking about getting a protein based food called Aquafeed to feed the fish in order to keep them fat and healthy. Is this a good…Continue

I'm no expert, but they look pretty good to me. I think you're on the right track and are starting to see the kind of results you've been worjing towards.
It's really weird, the first time I posted those three fish and a note, it left the picture out. I deleted it and resent it, and it left the note off. Zach is right, they are 6" and I was asking the experts if they look healthy because if not, I can get some coppernose from Overton's. They would also be 6", so there is no point if they look healthy. I do like coppernose best, though. Also, I wanted to know if anyone has had fish survive for 1 1/2 hour ride.
I thought see had mentioned they were 6 inches and may wonder if these look healthy or may be why her pond is not doing well.
Or maybe she was thinking about getting some from Overtons as well.
Nice 'gills, Sharon! How long were they?
Sharon, do you have a picture of the 3 fish?
Zach, there are two kinds of white catfish: a distinct species that doesn't get very large, and albinos of other species such as channels. I believe blues are sometimes called whites, but they aren't white catfish. Blues often are pretty light in color when they get bigger. Also, sometimes people refer to blues as "Mississippi blues", though there isn't a separate strain of blues particular to the Mississippi.
Zach when I was younger much younger and many years ago we would go to lake erie out by Sandusky Ohio and was nothing to catch 100 bullheads. They were fairly good size with some being 12 to 14 inches. We always cleaned and ate them. I thought they were good tasting. It was a blast to catch but I want to quit cause I'm saving the rest of the story for THE GOOD OLD DAYS.
I think I've got most of the catfish out of the pond.
If I could figure out a way to firm up the flesh of bullhead and grow them large enough they would be worth growing out to eat.
But I guess it is just a matter of opionion as to what kind of fish we like to eat.
Hope you can wipe those crazy things out, or at least get the numbers down where you could catch the larger ones out yourself.
Walt, are the blues that Overton's have the same as the blues (Mississippi Whites) we catch around here?
