Here's a video for you to fall asleep to. However, great ideas for those who are mimicking flies to the freshwater aquatic insects, using the match-the-hatch method, based on seasons. For those who already know their waters and seasons, it's a recap. For those who don't, well..something new to learn.…

I've been thinking about getting busy at the tying vice, since there is little else to do in Ohio...and working on some tube flies for Bluegill. There is no doubt I can adapt wooly bugger type flies to a tube, but I need some inspiration from all of you.

foam type hoppers or spiders would work I think

tiny minnow patterns?

Buggy nymphs?

Post some ideas and I'll give them a try...

Somebody was asking about Cricket patterns

I came across a youtube titled Hopper Candy and I adapted it to Crickets

Size 8 dry fly hook

Tan & brown craft foam

deer hair tail

Pretty simple and should be affective…

I tied these up for another member and thought I'd share my photo. I had the Blakemore Roadrunner heads and started out conservative and ended with adding the rubber legs. I think these will be killer for crappie and big Bluegill. Body material is a flash chenille, tails are marabou and the legs are off a bass jig....super easy to tie.…
