My beds are on the east side of my house "out of sight" and I plan to move them in this winter, leave them on a furniture mover and roll them out to water on warm days. I feed with kitchen waste. I also used dirt, peatand composted manure but, I did use garden soil.

I have two beds. One holds european Red Wigglers and the other European crawlers, or some call Giant Red Worms. My beds are inside a heated shop. They are in a mix of 3 equal parts dirt-peat moss-composted cow manure. I have layers of wet newsprint and cardboard on top. I feed only Kent Laying mash. To feed I scatter the feed under the newsprint and wet down. When feed is gone I repeat. Over time they will eat the newsprint and cardboard . When they have eaten it to the point that it is…

I tried with my boy but they either escaped or died, couldn't tell. We tried redworms with garden soil and newspaper bedding, along with feeding them coffee grounds, banana peels, etc. Didn't take, but we'll probably give it a go again sometime.
