Went out for a few hours this morning hoping to get into some decent 'gills and take a few home. It was not one of my better days...broke my leader and didn't have another leader or my tippet and to top things off I dropped my 5'6" Ultralight in the water and it's now 15' under. UGH!

Just want to say thanks to the great people on Big Bluegill! After reading a few of the post in several groups, I went to BassPro and got some pink Gulp Power Wigglers (look like little maggots) and wore 'em out today killing a few hours while my daughter volunteered at the cat place! I don't remember which group I was reading, but I want to say, "Thanks!". First time I've caught a catfish on a fly rod.

It should be very nice, with two boat ramps. According to the plans from the wildlife commission one will be 8 feet wide and 40 feet long and the other will be 8 feet wide and 60 feet long. We will also be getting a nice fishing dock over by the picnic shelter. I think all of these are floating. We won’t be constructing anything else since the new boat docks are only a month away. If the area is too unsafe until the new docks are installed our only option now would be to close the lake until they are completed. I have let the town manager know about your concern.

It's supposed to be mid 60s and sunny but winds expected over 10 mph early afternoon; probably gust a bit higher on open water. Will be kayaking with a couple of buddies. So I am thinking either Harris or the inlet at Jordan and I am leaning strongly toward the inlet because of the possible wind and it is a more interesting…

But I think it will be the inlet.

In the description I linked to earlier, I mention it has multiple channels that split around islands and come back together in the lake. My plan A would be to find the merged channel and check the edges for schooled fish, then paddle up and follow split channels doing the same. Plan B is deep drop offs near shore. I caught fish earlier in the winter here blindly fishing near steep slope banks. Santa brought me a FF, so I could hopefully do this more effectively.

As always, thoughts welcome...
new here, first timetag:bigbluegill.ning.com,2015-02-05:2036984:Topic:5827512015-02-05T21:50:27.574Zdick tabberthttp://bigbluegill.ning.com/profile/dicktabbert

This fish was over 9 inches and much of it was the tail portion.
